I'm going on the 13th September in Birmingham.

I know that Samantha Barks isn't quite right for the part - too young etc - but I am really looking forward to it because I have never seen Cabaret live.

Hello everybody, by the way. I'm a newbie, be nice :-)

That's cool. I'll let you know if he's understudying when I see it.

Also, it's got Sam from IDA.

I think I might do a bit of stagedooring for autographs...

Saw it last night...

Was amazing.

I also got to see part of an after show discussion with many of the cast, the MD and some techie dude and Samantha Barks.

They got up to Wilkomen when they're just in Berlin and had to restart due to lighting problems (the house lights kept coming on) and Wayne Sleep was being rolled about stage on this ladder and he looks out in the audience and goes "Want a tap dance?" That was hilarious.

Me too.

wicked_boy how is Samantha Barks? I can't believe a 17 year old is playing Sally Bowles lol

I think I'm gonna stage door too and ask her about when she met Idina Menzel to work on Defying Gravity.

Sam was good.

Her "Maybe This Time", "Don't Tell Mamma" and "Mein Herr" were brilliant. Was a bit let down by her "Cabaret", wasn't belted enough and didn't have the wowness I expected from the title song.

She lost her accent a couple times during the show, but other than that, it was fine.

She wasn't amazing, she wasn't poor. She did the job.

If you know what I mean.

But see it purely because of Wayne Sleep... he was hilarious. And the dude the playing the Sally's love (his name's slipping my mind) made up for Sam's lack of acting. He was good.

The chorus were amazing... worked really well together and were "more of the show" rather than "third nazi from the left".
