Post I'm considering auditioning.
Tell me what you think,

I'm not much of a singer. I can learn dance routines, and have some stage experience, and I'm very comfortable on stage. I'm a pretty good actor.

Do you think I have a shot, is great singing ability more important than dancing/acting ability in this show?

Does it sound like I might be better off for ensemble?

If your going for an ensemble role, dancing will be huge. If you audition for the main guy (Clifford, I think is his name), you will only really have to concentrate on acting and a bit of singing.

Ok, that sounds good. I'll check back to see if there's any more information on auditions, thanks for the help. :)

It is much more a dance heavy show for the ensemble and much more a dance and sing thing for the Emcee, acting and singing thing for Cliff, Shultz, he though has a couple of songs, and depending on what version you are doing Earnest, but he is much more an acting role.

I can't audition, I have to be 18+.

Oh well, I'm sure there's a theatre camp around here.

^ Why do you have to 18+ subject matter or is it an adult company?

The company itself isn't adults only, but I'm not sure why it's only 18+. I think they're looking for specific age groups...perhaps to make the show more believable? I don't know much about the show, so I could always be wrong.

I think the show could be done with older teens mixed in with adults.

A company in our area did Cabaret and had auditions for 18+ as well. It had to do with the choreography they wanted to use and it was felt that it wouldn't be suitable for anyone under 18 and they felt uncomfortable using anyone younger in such suggestive stuff.
