 a note to prospective directors/producers
If you plan on producing Chess in the United States, please email me or reply to this thread with your email address. I've worked with a number of successful productions & can help with various aspects of the show history, script and so on.

I highly recommend his script for the U.S. version, which is as satisfying a book for Chess as any I have ever read.

Let me second that. This man has put an incredible effort into making a piece of theatre out of Nelson's book that will have audiences feeling satisfied that they have seen a complete show and not just a collection of incredible songs strung together with scenes of repulsive human beings being repulsive.

I'm gonna go even further and say that if Samuel French doesn't one day contact this gentleman to license his version of the Nelson script, provided one ultimate vision isn't established, they're a bunch of unmentionables.

I liked it. Was an easy read. I love this man. He's really good.
I had a problem with the fact that he changed the vocals, but I have no changed score. A conductor would need to go through it and change the score him/herself.
