 I KNOW NOTHING!
I just want to say that I've seen a ton of shows, watched most of the movie musicals out there, and heard most of the cast recordings out there. However, I know relatively nothing about this show. I really don't care to either. It's not that I'm purposely avoiding knowledge about Chess, I just don't care. No one has to respond. I just wanted to get that off my chest. *Breathes HUGE sigh of relief*

Chess is such a wonderful show. the charaters, the music, the plot..granted its flawed..but I consider it a flawed masterpiece. My finest moment on stage in a musical was playing Florence..i was emotionally a wreck by the end of each performance.

I hate Chess. You are not missing much. ABBA shouldnt be allowed to do theatre- yet they did it twice...dammit.

If you only heard the concept recording..you havent heard Chess..the broadway version is much better actinbg andvocal wise.and the saubsequent concert versions are wonderful ass well. Chess also offers one of the meatiest women's roles in all musical theatre.
and ABBA didnt write CHess 2 members of ABBA did the music and Tim Rice did the lyrics.

I have the Broadway Recording... still junk in my eyes.
I have the Concept Recording...Junk.
And being that all of ABBA's songs were written by the two male members of ABBA. Essentially, ABBA wrote the music to Chess. And I know Tim Rice wrote the lyrics. I love Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's work, dearly. It's the only ALW shows, I am crazy about.
But thats my opinion of it. To each its own...we all like different things.
