Well...two attempted password retrievals and yet another new screenname later, I bring that news that I bring along every couple of years.

I'm working on it again.

Point at the moment is to finish the draft I had been writing based off of the notes and editing I'd done in late 2003/early 2004, then figure out what works from there. At the risk of giving away to pretention, the intent is to streamline into the ultimate remix.

Status report:

Songlist: Finalized.
Editing of referential soundtrack: 50% complete.
Libretto with full working dialogue: Begun.
Planned table read with friends: ~4-5 months.
Actual screenplay: Not yet.
Practicality of this project: Zero, just for fun likes.

If interested, I think the old chapters are still up somewhere on fanfiction.net; I'll try and find a link...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1462664/1/ -- The "M" rating is not for any content that has been posted yet, but there will be some "R" rated language and content down the line the way it's been envisioned. I'd forgotten how long it's been since I'd abandoned the project last time.

Interesting! Do Tim Rice, Benny Andersson & Bjorn Ulvaeus know you are working on this?

Not a bit, nor do I currently have any professional aspirations for it anyway. Purely a fan labor and writing exercise to clear out the occasional mental cobwebs when my own playgrounds need some tending. :)

Umm- what would be interesting to see would be a spec script based on the original plotlines suggested off the concept album - as you have some possible camera directions etc in there...

Hi Thom,

Glancing through that draft script (take 2) you put up... would I be right in thinking that the Opening Ceremony/Arbiter track would probably be playing under the dialogue from the Arbiter's "Good of you to show" line, coming up in the mix when (I can imagine) Freddie exposes that T-shirt (guitar riff into second verse), cold look from Arbiter.. then in...?
