 Maggie
Can anyone give me some background on this character? She's not listed as in the cast on some sites but is listed on stageagent.com.

Well maggie is the lead dancer in Brigadoon. She is in love with Harry Richie. She doesnt have any lines to sing or say but has a big solo dance, the funeral. It is Harry Richies funeral and she is deeply upset by his death so the scene can be very emotional. I would say that you have to be a strong dancer to play the part and be able to use your face well. If you need anymore help, just ask xxx

Thanks. I audition on Sunday since I can't make auditions tonight. Any other tips you could give me before I go?

The only thing I can say is that she has to be an amazing dancer, more ballet than anything else. A really good Maggie can make audiences cry with her dance in the funeral, and I think that takes tremendous talent, using only your body and dance to move people that much. Of course, she does have at least one line, I remember it because there it truly is a horrible line. After Harry's dead, his father goes looking for him and Maggie follows behind. Harry's father asks where his son is and Maggie says "Ay, I want to see him."
But Maggie's a pretty cool character; in the versions I've seen, she's the only woman on stage (although only briefly) during "The Chase." Course, she does get the short end of the stick; loving someone who loves someone else, and the one she loves ends up dead. But that's just life.

I'm late posting this, but for anyone who reads this in the future, the character Maggie is in love with is Harry Beaton, not Harry Richie as someone mistakenly posted.

Another late post but if anyone reads this the UK and US versions have different 2nd names. Harry's 2nd name is Ritchie in the UK amateur version.

And the movie messed with all the last names. I can't stand when they do things like that, it's riddiculous.

Haha yes! That is probably one of the most dreadful stage to screen transitions I can even think of. Quite quite awful.
