I wanna try out for the audition for the new Dutch production of Mary Poppins and I can really use some good advice on an audition song!

I am a mezzo-soprano/soprano with a warm sound.

With Les Mis there was this guy who had two songs prepared and the audition panel could pick the one they wanted to hear, he had Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and a non les Mis song.

Should I try something like that too?

I think 'Goodbye Emil' from Romance, Romance would be really good for Mary - it's a patter song of sorts, and really suits her accent. It's also pretty funny, and making a panel laugh is always good.

Also, I'm still kinda young for Mary anyway (I'll be 21 in two weeks), so what are the other possible ensemble roles for my age?

I don't think 21's too young for Mary. The named female ensemble would be Mrs Corry and Mrs Lark, neither of whom can convincingly be under 40.

I'm going to enter in a Dutch TV contest that is a spin-off off 'How do you solve a problem like Maria', except they're looking for Mary Poppins this time.
